Jesus Offered
He Waits
Being Sanctified
Jesus offered himself for us and he patiently waits for our response. He continues to wait while we are being Sanctified. Sanctification is a process. It doesn’t happen all at once and it isn’t completed until we have been taken home be with the Lord in heaven. There was a saying some years ago that I think speaks to this: “Be patient, God isn’t finished with me yet.” It’s something to keep in mind when we are ready to judge someone else and something to keep in mind when we are too harsh and unforgiving of ourselves.
My heart and my flesh rejoice
– When Stephen was being stoned he was “filled” with the Holy Spirit. The Greek word means permeated. He was filled body and soul with the spirit. That is why our hearts and flesh can both rejoice. The Spirit is in every part of us.

The Lord will not refuse any good to those who walk in His way. Ps. 84
Come Holy Spirit
Fill me with the fire of your love
Permeate every fiber of my being – body and soul.
Unlock the hardness of my heart and my unwilling spirit.
Replace these with a desire to serve you.
Remove any obstacles in my path.
Lead me by your light, along the right path.
Teach me and use me for your purpose. Amen.
