Entry from July 28, 2010

  • Give to the hungry some of your food
  • To the naked some of your clothing
  • seek counsel from every wise person

It is God's will, scripture tells us, that all be saved. How many times throughout the centuries have Christian people prayed in the words Jesus gave us "Thy will be done." Billions?" certainly too many to count.

How does the grace of God work in those who never heard of name? How does the Lord's grace ener those who refuse his love?

Surely God sees our weakness and our blindness. I have come to know that rather than rush to punish us for what is our fallen nature, God chooses the compassionate way, giving us every opportunity to accept the love he offers; healing us; giving us His strength and his light to see clearly.

He promised that "I am strongest when you are weak."

In a way we can rejoice in our weakness because it can bring God's strength to us. In a way we can be thankful for our sin because it teaches us the need for God's mercy. Our sin and our guilt is not stronger than God's love.

Perhaps the Lord shows mercy on those who refuse his friendship because he recognizes the injury to body, psychology and spirit that a cruel world inflicts on people and causes stubborness of heart.

I trust in God's will and I continue to pray as Jesus has taught - thy will be done.
