So why publish it? My only answer is that while in prayer recently I believe that God asked me to do it. I don't know why. Perhaps I'll learn a thing or two from the experience. Or maybe someone, someplace might be touched by a reflection I write and come to know the Lord through it. Frankly, I don't have a clue but I trust some fruit will come from it. When you think God is asking you to do something - you do it, especially if you claim to know and love Him.
I'm sure some people are going to read this blog and come to the conclusion that I'm absolutely bonkers! Others will certainly think it is an exercise in vanity. It doesn't matter much. I believe God asked me to do it and so I am.
Each entry might not be published on the day it was written but I will try to date each of them correctly. I can't promise that there will be a post every day though I will try. Some days, I might look back on some old journals and pop an entry in. Since I made the decision to follow the Lord's instruction about blogging I've already written three entries. I don't have time to copy each and publish it tonight but I will do the first of them since it explains how I came up with the blog's strange name: "A Cigar With God.
Peace,
Joe
