May Christ Find A Dwelling Place

From Thursday May 20th 2010

I will not enter the house where I live
Nor go to bed where I rest.
I will give no sleep to my eyes …
till I find a place for the Lord
a dwelling place for the strong one of Jacob. (Psalm 132)

“You must know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is within. The Spirit you have received from God...

You are not your own. You have been purchased and at a price.” (1 Cor. 6:19-20)

There can be no rest until we can find a place for the Lord. That place is with in ourselves. We are the temple. Open the doors. Let the Lord in. Let Him dwell with us and us with Him.

The second half of that passage reminds me of this line from the Exultet: “To ransom a slave you gave away your Son” That is the price that was paid.
